Super Food.... The building blocks to a full, healthy and active lifestyle.
Super food is a term that we should take lightly. There is no definition of the term and it is often used to describe food with high phytonutrient content that may confer health benefits as a result. The term is not common amongst dieticians and nutritional scientists, many of whom dispute the claims made that consuming particular foodstuffs can have a health benefit.
In actual fact, the Scientists and Medical professionals cannot even agree on the benefits of milk to humans. As there is no common definition for the term, it leads to it being used as a marketing tool. You can bet that if it is discovered that a particular food type has some advantage to your health, the food companies will find a way to mass produce and process it. The new product will then be marketed as SuperFood.

So what are SuperFoods?
Well, lets start with what they are not (and there is not even agreement on this). They are not foods that have been Injected with, or fed Hormones. They have not been sprayed with Pesticides or other chemicals, nor have they been irradiated, frozen for months or ripened in the cargo hold on the way to the market.
Needless to say, you are going to have to make informed choices after reading and understanding the packaging labels on the products. Study all
Labels
to ensure you are purchasing nutritional foods and not something dreamed up, artificially enhanced, grown, irradiated, stored or artificially ripened.
Remember, suplements are an option, not all supplements are bad, but read the labels.
The whole point of eating high quality
Super Food
is to ensure that your body gets the correct nutrition. With the correct nutrition, your body will have the building blocks it needs to regenerate itself with healthy cells. How can food fall into the "super" category if they have lost their nutritional value or have been contaminated by chemicals and poisons or stored so long that they have lost most of their nutritional value. E.G. Oranges lose up to 80% of their vitamin C within the first 24hrs of being picked.
Here follow a number of lists of "Super Foods" from various sources. Compare them and see what they have in common. I believe that foods, naturally produced (organically), that have not been irradiated, waxed, polished, stored or transported for months, will have the nutrients that your body needs. If you want your body to allow you a full, healthy and active lifestyle, make sure that it has the building blocks it needs to generate healthy cells. Give your body Good food, not hyped up Super Foods.

I believe they should be relative to your circumstances and your household.
In some instances, the use of suppliments can be a very beneficial option, but as I have said before, beware of supliments that are quick fix options. Lookout for hight content of milk powder, chemicals, medication, appitite suppressants and preservatives.
